My name is {{childName}}, and this is my story about moving to a new school or classroom. Soon I will move to a new place for learning. A big change like this can feel exciting and nervous at the same time — and that is okay. Many children move to new classrooms, and they settle in.

Before the move, there are things I can do to get ready. I can visit the new place, look at photos of it, and talk about it with a grown-up. I can ask questions about anything I am wondering. Knowing what to expect helps the new place feel less new.

In the new place, there will be a new room and some new faces. Many things will stay the same — learning, play time, and lunch still happen every day. The new teacher knows I am coming and will help me settle in. Teachers are good at helping children feel welcome.

After a little while, the new place will start to feel familiar. I will know where things are kept and which seat is mine. I may make new friends too. New places become known places — it just takes a little time.
