My name is {{childName}}. This is my story about trying a new food. Sometimes there is a new food on my plate. New foods can look, smell, and feel different from the foods I already know. It is normal to feel unsure about a new food.

I can get to know a new food in small steps. I can look at it. I can smell it. I can touch it with my finger or my fork. I can try a tiny taste if I feel ready. I do not have to like it — tasting is the brave part.

If I do not want the new food, I can say 'no thank you' politely. Polite words keep mealtimes friendly. Tastes change over time — a food that tastes yucky today might be okay another day. Many grown-ups eat foods they did not like as children.

Trying even a tiny bit of something new is brave. Every try teaches my mouth about a new taste. Whether I liked it or not, I had a go. I can feel proud of trying.
