My name is {{childName}}. This is my story about busy places. Some places are very busy — lots of people, lots of noise, and bright lights all at once. Shopping centres, parties, and crowds can be like this. Sometimes a place like this feels like too much for me, and that is okay.

My body tells me when a place is getting to be too much. My heart might beat fast. I might want to leave. I might feel like covering my ears or closing my eyes. These are useful signs — they mean my body needs a break.

I have a break plan for busy places. I can say 'I need a break' to a grown-up. We can go somewhere quieter together. I can take slow breaths or use my headphones. Having a plan means I know just what to do.

After a break, my body feels calmer. I might feel ready to go back in, or we might decide to go home. Both choices are okay. Using my break plan in a busy place is a real skill — and it is mine.
