My name is {{childName}}. This is my story about feeling angry. Sometimes I feel angry. Anger is a normal feeling that everyone has — children and grown-ups too. When I am angry, my body might feel hot or tight, or my hands might want to squeeze.

It is okay to feel angry. Feelings are not wrong — they come and they go. When I feel angry, I can keep my hands, my feet, and my words safe. The angry feeling will pass, usually quite soon.

When I feel angry, there are things I can do to help my body. I can take three slow breaths. I can count to ten. I can squeeze a cushion, or ask for a quiet space. I can also tell a grown-up how I am feeling.

Little by little, the angry feeling gets smaller. My body starts to feel calm again. When I am calm, I can talk about what happened with a grown-up. Noticing my anger and keeping everyone safe is something I am learning to do well.
