My name is {{childName}}, and this is my story about storms. A storm is a kind of weather with dark clouds, strong wind, and heavy rain. Sometimes there is thunder and lightning. Most storms pass by in a little while.

Lightning is a bright flash of light in the sky, and thunder is the loud rumbling sound that comes after. Thunder can be very loud, but it cannot hurt me — it is only a sound. The light comes first, and the sound follows.

During a storm, the safest place is inside. I can stay indoors with a grown-up. If the noise feels too loud, I can cover my ears, listen to music, or hold a comfort item. a grown-up is there to help me feel calm.

Storms always pass. After a while, the wind calms, the rain stops, and sometimes the sun comes out again. I am learning that I can stay calm and safe during a storm.
